Arkanoid - C64 - Martin Galway

Music by Martin Galway

Interestingly, this is pretty much the first c64 game that was published that uses a 'hack' to get digitised sounds (the drums).

Apologies for the sporadic updates recently , I've been mad busy at work recently, designing a top secret remake of an old 80's arcade game :-)

Chris Hülsbeck releases R-Type Themes EP

From www.Huelsbeck.com :

We are happy to introduce a new digital music release from Chris Huelsbeck Productions / synSONIQ Records: The “R-Type Themes EP” contains the theme music pieces of all the R-Type versions Chris Huelsbeck worked on–starting with the C64, followed by the Amiga and most recently on the iPhone. Included are recordings of the original computer hardware (the C64 Theme on this album was in fact recorded from the exact machine that was used to create the piece in 1989) as well as Remixes / Extended versions produced in the studio and also the live orchestral performance from the Symphonic Shades concert

More information inclusing track listing at the proper blog post Here

I think my favourite is still the c64 track :)

Contra III (Stage 1) - SNES - Various

Music by Masanori Adachi, Miki Higashino, and "Tappy" Iwase.

Properly Epic opening level music, very orchestral considering the age of the game.
I had great fun playing this co-op with my brother. We completed it lots of times!
